(Single block of 3.71ha at 647m altitude with a northwest exposure, planted in 1919 on sandy clay/loam soils over limestone. 26 hl/ha, aged for 24 months in 100% new Allier white-toast oak casks. Unfiltered. 13.12% abv, TA 6.5, pH 3.37) This has started opening nicely showing lovely perfume of roses, spices, and cherries with some underbrush scents. Taut and structured with classic dried tomato aromas alongside a core of crunchy cherries and spicy notes. Needs time to reveal more layers and acquire softer mouthfeel.
