Petroulianos is a rare variety of the Peloponnese that is typically low in acid. Vatistas winery in Laconia, has been a pioneer on the evolution of the variety. The wine is moderately floral and fruity on the nose while on the palate it is honeyed, ripe and in a way exciting and distinctive. More to the textural side, it would be interesting to see how it behaves after a couple of years.
