Cask sample of dry Mavrodaphne to be released in December. Deep purple. Nose is fruit-driven with juicy black cherries along with complex graphite and meaty notes. Impressively pure and focused. Savoury on the palate with excellent fruit quality, definition and fine-grained tannins. This has just entered maturation phase in foudres so I presume it will gain in complexity. A very refined example stylistically more to the Cephallonia side rather than Peloponnese. (from a parcel of 0.3 hectares)
