Το ελληνικό κρασί, τα τελευταία δύο με τρία χρόνια, γνωρίζει μια περίοδο ιδιαίτερα δυναμικής ανάπτυξης και ανακατατάξεων, με την εμφάνιση νέων οινοποιείων αλλά και μεγάλες εξαγορές στον τομέα. Στη Σαντορίνη, το κτήμα Άλφα πρόσφατα καθώς και άλλα οινοποιεία στο παρελθόν έχουν κάνει έντονη την παρουσία τους, αλλά ποτέ μέχρι τώρα ένας παραγωγός της Σαντορίνης δεν είχε βγει εκτός του νησιού για να ιδρύσει νέο οινοποιείο.
