Diamantakos, Naoussa 2021, Xinomavro
A superb Naoussa expression from a challenging vintage.
Garnet colour. The nose opens with ripe cherries, red berries and an earthy, savoury note, with hints of vanilla and sweet oak in the background. The palate is medium-bodied, refined and energetic, with lively acidity, fine-grained tannins and good length. The wine has freshness and poise, qualities that are particularly important given the vintage's challenges. It is already approachable, but the structure suggests further development over the next few years. (Yiannis Karakasis MW)
