Επιστροφή από το διαγωνισμό Decanter World Wine Awards
Πως πήγαν φέτος τα ελληνικά και κυπριακά κρασιά στον πιο σημαντικό οινικό διαγωνισμό παγκοσμίως που λαμβάβει χώρα στο Λονδίνο; Αυτό είναι κάτι που θα το γνωρίζουμε στις 29 Μαΐου (τα οινοποιεία στις 22) αλλά μέχρι τότε θα ήθελα να καταγράψω μερικές, σύντομες πρώτες εντυπώσεις.
Το Decanter World Wine Awards είναι ο κορυφαίος οινικός διαγωνισμός παγκοσμίως τόσο λόγω υψηλού αριθμού δειγμάτων όσο και κορυφαίου οινικού επιπέδου των κριτών. Φέτος μονοπώλησε το οινικό ενδιαφέρον από τις 30 Απριλίου έως τις 4 Μαΐου με 17.000 κρασιά (4.500 το 2004 που ξεκίνησε) που αξιολόγηθηκαν από 275 wine experts, ανάμεσά τους 59 Μasters of Wine και 25 Masters Sommelliers. Είναι επίσης ο διαγωνισμός που το χρυσό μετάλιο ξεκινάει από το 95/100! κάτι που δείχνει πόσο αυστηρή και ποιοτική είναι η δομή του.
