Greece in the IMW Auction at Sotheby’s, entering the World of Fine Wine
The Institute of Masters of Wine Auction at Sotheby's (Explore the World of Fine Wine | The Institute of Masters of Wine Benefit Auction) is among the most esteemed fundraisers in the international wine community. It features rare bottles, exclusive experiences, and donations from Masters of Wine from various regions, all aimed at supporting the Institute and its students. This auction includes sixty-eight lots representing a wide geographic range and diverse wine cultures.
Greece enters the auction with six carefully selected lots. These hold both symbolic and practical value: symbolically, they align Greece with regions known for shaping the fine wine story over generations; practically, they provide wine professionals and collectors with insight into modern Greek terroirs such as Santorini, Tinos, Naoussa, and Amyndeon. The curation was developed through close collaboration with the IMW Auction Committee to present an authentic and contemporary portrait of Greece.
