Katogi Averoff, Flogero 2017

A hard to find wine from Katogi Averoff situated in Epirus, high altitude up to 1000 m, this is produced in 1500 bottles and is available only via cellar door. Violets, dark cherries, fruit cake, minerals and touch of smokiness on the nose. Deep and complex. Medium-bodied on the palate, despite being 14.5% abv you don't feel it heavy, it displays a wonderful mountain character with a fine vein of acidity and well-managed tannins and oak. Delicious now, better with age.
