Muses Mouchtaro 2010
Mouchtaro is a grape variety which very few have seriously addressed. It is grown almost exclusively in Viotia region in Central Greece and Muses is one of the very few wineries that produce a single varietal one. Recently Samartzis presented their own Mouchtaro version. Love it or hate it grape with tons of acid and tannins with a funky nose. 2010 has evolved nicely still with a funky, bacon note along intense black fruit and hints of toast. Palate delivers a lot of pleasure and excitement. Tannins have started to mellow and there are many layers with bright acid carrying the fruit's intensity. Curious to see where this will go but at this stage it is quite rewarding. New vintage ( Greece&Grapes €13.00)
