Nico Lazaridi, ‘Μagic Mountain’ 2019
A benchmark Greek white based on an international variety that created waves in the 90s and early 00s, this is produced in Drama and specifically in the villages of Pigadia, Agora and Andriani. A white Bordeaux in style wine that matures in French oak for 6 months it displays aromas of quince, hazelnut and stone fruit on the nose with highlighted oak at this point. Persistent, creamy and powerful on the palate it is still a baby needing time to integrate the oak element. A lovely gastronomical wine for mid-term ageing.
