Gerovassiliou, Museum Collection White 2016
(93)
A selection of best parcels of old vines from 5 varieties, Malagousia, Assyrtiko, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Viognier, Museum is cellar door available only. It is produced on a few thousand bottles.
The 2016 (re-tasted in 2017) is, without a doubt an imposing wine. It opens up with apricot and nectarines around a core of pineapple, bergamot and grass. Oak is fantastically integrated, adding just a touch of toast. Creamy, medium-bodied and well balanced on the palate, it is showing very well with Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier getting most of the attention. Fresh, vibrant with a long finish. (14%abv)
