Petrakopoulos Mavro 2017
(100% Mavrodaphne from Palliki area in Cephalonia, 13.5% abv, TA 5.4 g/L, rs 1.5 g/L, 2000 bottles produced) Dry Mavrodaphne is perhaps the next big thing in Greek reds and Petrakopoulos produces concentrated, opulent examples not sacrificing though the telltale elegance of the variety. Mavro 2017 shows intense black fruit, noble meat and herbal/peppery character. On the palate it delivers depth fruit and long lasting finish with excellent quality, cashmere - like tannins.
