''Αν και στην τελική πιστεύω στην ύπαρξη του terroir, εν τούτοις είναι μάλλον περισσότερο μια ιδέα γιατί για να μελετηθεί σε βάθος απαιτείται δουλειάς δεκαετιών και συγκριτικών δοκιμών. Κάτι που το έχουν κάνει για παράδειγμα και στη Βουργουνδία και στον Μοζέλα. Μιλάμε για το terroir νομίζοντας ότι ''το κατέχουμε'' ενώ στην πράξη μπορεί και να είμαστε πολύ μακρυά. Πολλές φορές μάλιστα το μπερδεύουμε σαν έννοια με την ''τυπικότητα'' μίας ευρύτερης περιοχής ή λέμε κρασιά terroir γενικά εννοώντας κρασιά με ταυτότητα. Όμως το teroir είναι δακτυλικό αποτύπωμα!''
