Voyiatzis, Xinomavro Moschomavro 2017
A traditional northern Greece blend of the area of Kozani, starring Xinomavro with less tannic and more fruity Moschomavro with each variety vinified separately and blended during ageing. The wine matures in casks for one year and then is bottled and further aged. The result is a deep red in colour wine that transports you to Northern Greece, Macedonia with its raspberry, nettle and sour cherry aromas. The wine though is not only about the aromas, there is a solid tannic backbone and slight drying tannins needing time to integrate. Give it a couple of two years of cellaring.
