Zambartas Single Vineyard Xynisteri 2018
Not your ordinary Xynisteri this comes from a single vineyard in Mandria, Krasochoria Lemesou at 900 m of altitude. Fruit is sourced from unirrigated bush vines and is partly fermented in 300 lts french oak with tops from acacia wood. Creamy and ripe on the nose with lychees, guava, vanilla and underlying minerality. Fat and fresh on the palate with oak showing at this stage this is a less mineralic and gastronomic expression of the variety with depth of fruit and good aging potential. Shy at his stage I expect it to improve over the next 2 years.
